IoT Pro incorporates several anti-tamper features designed to provide physical evidence of tampering and/or remote notification if the device is removed, opened, or its external wiring is tampered with.

Construction

• The enclosure screws are located on the rear of the device. When wall-mounted, the enclosure cannot be opened without first removing the device from the wall. This works in conjunction with the magnetic tamper detection feature described below.

• For battery-powered devices with an internal antenna, all components are contained within the enclosure, minimising opportunities for physical tampering.

  • For applicable sensors and meters, external wiring can incorporate tamper detection, such as normally closed wiring for door open/close detection or a dedicated tamper wire for pulse-meter installations.

Destructible Labels

IoT Pro is supplied with two ultra-destructible labels, positioned on opposite sides of the enclosure. Opening the enclosure destroys the labels, providing visible evidence that the device has been tampered with.

Magnetic Tamper Detection

The rear of the enclosure includes a dedicated pocket for a small magnet. Under normal conditions, the magnet is positioned in the pocket while the device is secured to the wall.

If the device is removed from the wall, the magnet falls from the pocket, causing the device to detect the change and report the tamper event to the online server.
