IoT Pro Pedal Module
Installation Guide
This guide will walk you through two installation configurations for the IoT Pro Pedal Module in a ring buoy housing. The process typically takes 1 hour for a standard installation.
Option A: Inside the Ring Buoy Housing
This installation should be followed when the ring buoy housing has a flat bottom with sufficient headroom for the IoT Pro Pedal Module to fit, such as the model shown below.

Parts Needed
1x IoT Pro Pedal Module
4x M6x30 mm Bolts (length can vary depending on ring buoy housing type) (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hexagonal-bolt-with-thread-up-to-the-head-156)
8x M6 Flat Washers (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/flat-washer-for-hexagon-bolts-and-nuts-44)
4x M6 Standard Nuts (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hexagon-nut-42)
4x M6 Serrated Nuts (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/serrated-locking-nut-4)
6.5 mm Drill Bit (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hss-drill-bits-din-338-tip-rn-11)
10 mm Hexagon Socket
10 mm Spanner
Installation
Always prioritize safety when working with power tools and wear appropriate protective gear, such as safety goggles and gloves
Position the ring buoy housing so that the bottom of the housing is easily accessible
Locate the center point of the bottom flat section (shown with a red circle in the below template) and drill four holes with the 6.5 mm drill bit according to the template

All dimensions in mm
Assemble four M6x30 bolts with two flat washers and a standard M6 nut each, as shown below using the 10 mm socket and spanner

Place the IoT Pro Pedal Module onto the assembled bolts, with the magnet side of the module situated in the middle of the ring buoy housing
Assemble four M6 serrated nuts onto the bolts and tighten with the 10 mm spanner/ hexagon socket depending on accessibility

Option B: Outside the Ring Buoy Housing
This installation should be followed when the ring buoy housing does not have a flat bottom, such as the model shown below.

Parts Needed
1x IoT Pro Pedal Module
1x M5x50 mm Bolt (length can vary depending on ring buoy housing type) (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hexagonal-bolt-with-thread-up-to-the-head-200)
2x Spring Retainers (can be supplied if not pre-assembled)
4x M6x30 mm Bolts (length can vary depending on ring buoy housing type) (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hexagonal-bolt-with-thread-up-to-the-head-156)
8x M6 Flat Washers (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/flat-washer-for-hexagon-bolts-and-nuts-44)
4x M6 Standard Nuts (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hexagon-nut-42)
4x M6 Serrated Nuts (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/serrated-locking-nut-4)
6.5 mm Drill Bit (https://eshop.wuerth.com.mt/hss-drill-bits-din-338-tip-rn-11)
Cone Drill Bit to 15 mm
10 mm Hexagon Socket
10 mm Spanner
7 mm spanner
Installation
Always prioritize safety when working with power tools and wear appropriate protective gear, such as safety goggles and gloves
The following process should only be followed if the IoT Pro Pedal Module configuration needs to be changed from Option A to Option B.
If your module is pre-configured for Option B, skip to step 2
Remove the M4 nuts holding the springs bracket with the 7 mm spanner

Remove the springs from underneath the bracket and install them on the opposite side

Install the provided spring retainers onto the springs followed by the two M4 nuts
The M4 nuts should be tightened by hand with the 7 mm spanner until the top of the nut is flush with the end of the screw

Remove the M5 bolt and flat washer installed on the magnet side of the module and replace with an M5x50 bolt (or appropriate length) whilst re-using the same flat washer
Tighten the bolt to 1±0.05 Nm with a calibrated torque wrench

Identify the optimal location for the IoT Pro Pedal Module depending on the ring buoy housing design
Use the 6.5 mm drill bit and the cone drill bit to drill holes according to the below template (orientation will depend on the identified location)
The M5 bolt will pass through the 15 mm diameter hole, the Pedal Module should be installed in such a position so that the M5 bolt is in constant contact with the ring buoy

All dimensions in mm
The ring buoy should provide enough force through the M5 bolt to push against the springs, such that the Pedal Module is open when the ring buoy is within the housing
This force can be tuned by adding/removing washers between the Pedal Module and the housing

Pedal Module in the open position when the ring buoy is present
When the ring buoy is removed, the Pedal Module should close without any obstructions

Pedal Module in the closed position when the ring buoy is missing
An installation example is shown below for illustrative purposes
